Project Management Methodology Rule and Guidance

Question: Examine about the Project Management Methodology Rule and Guidance. Answer: What a strategy is and the job it serves in venture the board The undertaking the board approach is a lot of rule and direction for the task group through which they can achieve a venture. The system makes the venture simple for the director to comprehend and defeat any sort of undertaking inconvenience if show up during the task. The approach for the most part contains the definitions, rules and various formats for the effective fulfillment and conveyance of the venture. The3 procedure is commonly utilized by all sort of task advancement whether the venture is identified with the Information innovation or from some other area (Michels, 1986). In a task advancement, the undertaking the executives procedures by and large applied by the chiefs for the arranging and structure and usage of the venture. Each task by and large uses various procedures which can be distinctive for an alternate venture. For instance, the NASA applies an alternate philosophy for an alternate venture and Navy apply an alternate technique for their activities. Kind of syst ems, which for the most part applied by the associations and groups for the undertaking improvements are, Light-footed Versatile venture Framework Precious stone technique SDLC Cascade approach Ruler 2 Winding Scrum 2. Acclimate yourselves with the different approachs in the rundown underneath. Pick two systems from this rundown to investigate, breaking down the similitudes and contrasts between them both. There are various strategies which are commonly applied by the undertaking supervisory crews for the task improvement. The Agile and the Waterfall venture improvement procedures are two of them which are utilized by the administrators in the majority of the task advancement cases. The undertaking improvement philosophies like Agile and Waterfall have their own attributes which become valuable for the venture advancement. The determination of the philosophy relies upon the kind of the venture which is under in the improvement stage. To contrast with strategies I have picked the Agile and t4he cascade venture advancement philosophies. These two procedures are broadly utilized and acknowledged by the venture advancement groups. Similitudes between the Waterfall and Agile systems: The closeness between the Agile and the Waterfall or the conventional technique is a similar Goal. In both of the cases, the Goal of the task the board is the conveyance of an all around arranged and created venture. Lithe and cascade both of these for the most part utilizes a similar sort of guideline in venture advancement. The two strategies by and large incline toward arranging all through the venture before the turn of events. Both of these strategies lock down the prerequisites before the beginning of the venture. Both undertaking improvement approachs utilize same structure square techniques. The Agile, just as conventional philosophy, by and large continue with ventures in same structure squares technique. They for the most part make Scope, cost, timetable and execution standards for the undertaking the executives (Ed, 2006). The image shows the spry undertaking advancement stages. The above picture depicts the phases in Waterfall strategy steps. Distinction: There are a few contrasts in the Agile and Waterfall venture Development philosophies which are pointed towards arranging and making a task. The customary and the Agile venture the board techniques by and large dont utilize the equivalent The conventional and the coordinated task improvement stage by and large utilize a similar sort of undertaking advancement standard and building squares however they are not set in a similar spot. They are placed in better place as far as execution and structure contemplations. Light-footed undertaking improvement system is adaptable as far as changes yet the cascade venture advancement philosophy isn't adaptable with the adjustment in the task. In the current day, the adjustment in the task prerequisites is the basic thing which is should have been finished during the improvement of the venture. An engineer can change in the continuous undertaking improvement while in the cascade the change isn't permitted during the turn of events. This is the explanation for the ubiquity Agile task advancement over the customary undertaking improvement system. Deft venture improvement technique is increasingly straightforward while the cascade venture advancement philosophy isn't straightforward. The straightforwardness in the undertaking advancement causes the engineer group to perceive the provisos present in the venture improvement plan (Mathaisel, 2013). 3: Finally, distinguish how your picked philosophies and procedures identify with the undertaking life cycle (PLC): The nimble system and the cascade philosophy are two philosophies which I have decided for the task improvement. The spry has various stages in the undertaking improvement life cycle. The undertaking improvement life cycle in the both of the strategy comprises of various stages in the venture advancement life cycle. These are; Conceptualizing In this methodology the designer group by and large break down the circumstance for which they need to make the product. The undertaking group talks with the partner about the circumstance for which the product is being created. Arranging: The arranging stage is one of the significant stage in the item advancement in which the undertaking group by and large arrangement about the venture which is expected to build up the group. The groups dissect the circumstance and build the prerequisite rundown for the task improvement. Structure: For this situation, the group plans the outline of the product. In the wake of being broke down by the group and all prerequisites are met, the groups for the most part plan the product layout for the further turn of events. Manufacture: The designer group fabricates the product according to the necessity of the customer and the blueprint they have made for the improvement of the product. Test: This is the trying period of the product which was made by the group and tried in the genuine condition to check whether the product is according to the customer's desire or not. Establishment: The establishment stage is the following stage wherein the group introduces the product in where it needs to work. The tried programming the introduced in the genuine condition with the goal that the customer can take the virtual products help in the work. Backing : Its is the last phase of the product venture life cycle in which the product improvement group and the organization are liable for any sort of help which is required if there should be an occurrence of any product issue (IEEE, 2006). The task advancement lifecycle by and large comprises of these means which start with the conceptualizing and reach and end with the establishment of the product. Reference: Michels, J. B. (1986). American Revolution and Civil War Essay - 1375 Words

American Revolution and Civil War (Other (Not Listed) Sample) Content: NameInstructorCourseDateAmerican Revolution and Civil WarThe American Revolution and the Civil War are two of the most important wars fought in the United States. The wars have played a vital role in shaping the United States. The American Revolution created the Nation and the Civil War united and strengthened it.American RevolutionAmerican Revolution dates back to the early colonial years. It was an open conflict between the Great Britain and Americaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s thirteen colonies (Wood 12). The American Revolution was primarily an economic rebellion because of the taxation conflict and parliament representation. The colonists strongly believed that the English government was unfair and tyrannical and the conflicts over taxes, trade and government presentation, led to the American Revolution. There were many influences that resulted to the American Revolution. The colonists believed that Britain was too controlling, and they needed to be independent from tyrannical lea dership. In addition, the American people felt that they were very strong and independent, and wanted to do things their own way. Moreover, they felt that the Great Britain was along their way, and they had to eliminate it through a revolution. Likewise, the British forces forced them and intimidated the colonists into submission, and this gave them more cause and justification for violence and thus, the American Revolution.Among the causes of the revolution was the Boston Tea Party. This is where a group of colonists disguised as Indians dumped tea overboard from three ships in Boston Harbor. They had made up their mind that no tea would leave the ship, and so, they ruined it by throwing it in the harbor and even stripped the ship owner of his clothes. In response to the Boston Tea Party, the Intolerable Acts were introduced, and this was also one of the causes of the American Revolution since Americans were tired of being pushed around like babies. Restrictions were placed on the colonist for example, outlawing holding town meetings. For instance, the Boston Port Act which ordered the closure of the Boston Harbor until the damages had been repaid to the Dutch East India Company. Another example of the intolerable acts was the Massachusetts Government Act, which put the Massachusetts government under direct British control. The other intolerable act was the Quebec Act, which expanded the British territory in Canada, and guaranteed the free practice of Roman Catholicism. Another cause of the American Revolution was the 1754-1763 French and Indian War (Hammond 102). This war was between France and Britain, and ended victorious. With Britain defeating France, it remained in debt and started demanding more revenues from its colonies, and the colonies became less dependent on Britain for protection thus resulting to the American Revolution. The Sugar Act, the Stamp Act and other taxes were also among the main causes of the American Revolution. Americans were not happy with the high taxes forced on them, and they had no other option but to revolt against the taxes. These Acts increased revenues through tax collections on everything from paper to clothes, and even tea resulting to a revolution. The British taxation of Americans was a fundamental factor that led to the rise of the inevitable revolution. The American Revolution was successful. This is because it was under the strongest and most stable leadership ever in the region. For instance, General George Washington who was extremely skilled, and mastered the entire terrain of the country yet, the Britain forces had no prior knowledge and experience of the American revolutionaries combat. The American Revolution led to the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783. This is what ended the American Revolution, and gave the colonies independence from the Great Britain. The thirteen states were freed from Britain and were now free to become the United States of America, form their own central gove rnment, and make their own laws. Americaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s success in the Revolutionary War created a new nation.Prior to the war, women had no rights other than to raise families but after the revolution, they were able to gain more rights. For instance, the power to be able to divorce their husbands if they chose to, and this is something they could never do before. On the other hand, apart from the positive impacts of the revolutionary war, there were negative effects. After the American Revolution, the Continental Congress was unable to pay the colonialists troops and this made them resort to selling bonds to other governments in order to be able to pay the troops. In addition, the beef and sugar prices soared as high as double. Even though Britain lost the thirteen colonies to America, they were able to retain Canada, the land in Africa, India and the Caribbean. The American Revolution war had a great impact on the social, economic and political parts of colonial America. Although they were able to gain independence from the Great Britain, and form their own government, they were in big debt which they found it difficult to clear. The Civil WarThe American Civil War simply known as the Civil War was fought from 1861- 1865 in the United States. It resulted from sectional differences between the Northern and Southern territories. Slavery was one of the causes of the Civil War in the United States; the South was in favor of slavery while the Northerners were against it. The North and the South could not agree over the future of slaves, and this dispute led to secession which later resulted to war among the territories. The South wanted to make use of slaves on their large plantations while the northern states gradually abolished slavery. This created conflicts between the two territories, and this resulted to the Civil War. The irreconcilable differences and simmering animosity between the South, and the North led to the Civil war.In addition, unfair taxation also led to the Civil War. The North and the South were different territories; the North had many factories while the South had large cotton plantations. The South depended on slaves to work on their plantations for their economic success, and sold their crops to England and got manufactured goods produced from Europe. However, the Northern factories started producing the same goods the South imported from Europe and the Northern politicians passed heavy taxes on imported goods from Europe so as to force the Southerners to buy goods from them (Weigley 202). This was not taken lightly by the Southerners as it angered them, leading to the war between the territories. The laws were unfavorable to the Southerners, and they had to fight against them since they felt that the laws passed by the federal government treated them unfairly. The Civil War emerged to be one of the tragic wars in the American History. Many lives were lost during this war. However, it was able to get rid of the slav ery institution. Additional amendments were added to the constitution which helped erase slavery in the United States.Furthermore, the Civil War resulted into the strengthening of the United Statesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ foreign power. The country became united since the sectional differences brought about by slavery, i...

Offender Profiling A Technique For Identifying The...

OFFENDER PROFILING According to the article, offender profiling is a technique for identifying the personality and behavioral features of an offender based on an analysis of he/she committed. There are two types of offender profiling: inductive and deductive profiling. Inductive profiling technique uses an offender profiling from what is known about other offenders (criminals). Deductive profiling deals with the criminal’s evidence relating to him/her. The aim of the research was to examine the utility of offender profiles. To evaluate if the offender profiles with an ambiguous profile will demystify the statements to make them well suited to a potential suspect. Offender profiles have been useful to prioritize suspects in ongoing investigations; however there have been criticisms on profiling. Based on Alison et al., stated that after the study, they generalized that both participants that received genuine and bogus suspects had no significant differences, this correspond well with Barnum- type effect. Therefore, using offender profiles as an investigative tool can be highly suspicious. Othello - Power Play free essay sample

I am not interested in power for powers sake, but Im interested in power that is moral, that is right, that is good. Power can be defined as having the ability, strength and capacity to control or influence people and their actions. Martin Luther King suggests that power is variable that can be used in a positive or negative way. The types of power, power of an individual, power of position and power of the people are evident in both Shakespeare’s Othello as well as Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Through characters such as Iago, Desdemona, Sauron and Eowyn with the use of literary and film techniques, both texts convey the multifaceted notions of power in a both positive and negative ways. In Shakespeare’s Othello, Iago is a quintessential Machiavellian character who truly demonstrates the power of an individual and in essence, controls every character in the play. We will write a custom essay sample on Othello Power Play or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page â€Å"But I will wear my heart upon my sleeve for daws to peck at, I am not what I am. † (I. i. 16) Shakespeare uses this paradox and riddle to make the audience question Iago and his motives. This cryptic and obscure manner of speech hides as much, or if not more than it reveals in which create an emblematic of Iago’s power throughout the play. He preys on the weakness of individuals, their own human flaws to influence even the most powerful of figures. Othello’s trust and sexual desires, Cassio’s intoxication, Emilia’s desperate need of attention, Desdemona’s innocence, Roderigo’s love are all puppets to this deceitful fox. â€Å"Think, my Lord? †Ã¢â‚¬ Honest, my Lord? † (III. iii. 103-106). These intentional short sentences which Shakespeare cleverly uses adds to suspense and drama which helps Iago plant the seeds of doubt and jealousy into Othello’s mind, exploiting his weakness, leading him to his hamartia. Shakespeare gives Iago the extraordinary power to make those around him see only what they want to see, and thereby not suspect what is obviously suspicious. Similarly, Jackson’s LotR: TRotK, Sauron is the ultimate satanic villain in the film. Like Iago, Sauron continuously influence other’s weakness to his own desire. Jackson uses close up shots to illustrate the strong emotions of fear on Aragon’s face as Sauron, symbolised by the Great Eye, exploits his weakness, the death of his beloved. The One Ring in the film reflects Sauron’s power and constantly tempts anyone who comes near it. Moreover, Sauron ensnares those who fear him through the Great Eye, a symbol power that is ever present through the entire film. Jackson uses a bird’s eye view to depict this power, giving the audience a bare glimpse, a taste of Sauron’s conspicuous, inescapable scrutiny. Power of the individual is essential and demonstrated simultaneously in both text which also conveys the selfish, manipulative and negative use of power, power for power’s sake. The power of position is too evident in Shakespeare’s Othello which is illustrated through the characters of Desdemona and Emilia. â€Å"My noble father, I do perceive here a divided duty. To you I am bound for life and education. My life and education both do learn me How to respect you. You are the lord of my duty, I am hitherto your daughter. But here’s my husband. † (I. iii.  179–180) Shakespeare uses alliteration to draw the audience attention to these two words which emphasis split loyalty of her husband and her father. From this speech, Desdemona is shown as a brave, young and powerful women, who stands up in front of her father, but does not seem ill-mannered or disrespectful. â€Å"No, I will speak as liberal as the north; Let heaven and men and devils, let them all, All, all, cry shame against me, yet Ill speak. † (V. ii. 220-222) Shakespeare uses simile to express the vivid emotion that Emilia is feeling towards the audience. This portrays the strength and power of Emilia’s speech as she steps out of her persona as a weak, oppressed women used only for her sexuality. Emilia is the only character that Iago underestimates, yet, ironically led him to his ultimate downfall. In the same way, Jackson’s LotR: RotK exemplifies this power through women, who similarly were belittled and underestimated. â€Å"No man can kill me. †Ã¢â‚¬ I am no man. † Jackson brilliantly uses these simple words that hold extraordinary power with such effective meaning. The deathly silence between these two dialogues adds to the dramatic and climatic scene that exposes Eowyn’s true identity, a woman masked as a common a soldier. This courage that Eowyn possesses depicts the power of women that many underestimate and fail to see. Through these character’s strength and courage, the position of power that they control is illustrated in both a moral and righteous way. Power of People is indisputably seen in Shakespeare’s Othello through the everlasting battle of good and evil. Desdemona’s innocence and honesty is the representation of the essence of goodness in this play as in contrast to Othello who’s jealously and sexual desire gives an impression of evil. Othello’s jealousy consumes him as he becomes the darkness that reflects upon the colour of his skin blinded to Desdemona’s honesty and purity. This duo resonate the everlasting battle between good and evil throughout the play and is constantly battling for power. â€Å"An old black ram is tupping your white ewe. † (I. i.  88-89) This vivid use of description Shakespeare uses help portray the powerful imagery in the audience’s mind which shows the dominance of black over white. Iago is constantly trying to tip this balance, which he successfully does through the vulnerable and weakness of human characteristics. â€Å"Yet I’ll not shed her blood; Nor scar that whiter skin of hers than snow†¦Yet she must die, else she’ll betray more men. â⠂¬ Shakespeare employs the use of simile to emphasis the colour of Desdemona’s skin, her pure innocence that is to be tainted by the jealousy of Othello. The scale is finally tipped as Iago’s plan finally succeeds. Equivalently, Jackson’s LotR: RotK demonstrates the everlasting battle between good and evil. Frodo illustrates a pure, uncorrupted and righteous character that balances out and is insusceptible to the wickedness and evil temptations of the ring. However, at the climax of the film, Frodo finally succumbs to the enticement of the ring. â€Å"The Ring is mine. † Jackson uses an extreme close-up shot to show the fine details of emotion on Frodo’s face as he embraces the power of the ring. The power of people is clearly incorporated in both texts which depict the everlasting battle of good versus evil, and the fall into the temptation of power. Power is much evident in both Shakespeare’s Othello and Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and is portrayed in various types of power. It is unambiguous that both texts exemplify the positive and negative notion of power through literary and film techniques which question the use of power, power for power’s sake or power that is moral, right and good.

The Second Battle of Bull Run Essay The year is 1862, during the Civil War. My name is Jack Taurance and I am eighteen years old. I am a soldier that has to fight in the 2nd Battle of Bull Run. The battle is going to take place in my hometown of Manassas, Virginia. I cannot wait. It is going to be so great I have heard that the 1st Battle of Bull Run was hell, but this one wont be. Itll be great because Im in it and I am fighting for my country and the people of Virginia. I am proud to be a part of the Confederate Army. We will write a custom essay on The Second Battle of Bull Run specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now August 27, 1862: Today is the first day of the battle. Im excited beyond imagination; I cannot express my feelings right now. Robert E. Lee, the general of the Confederate Army, has told us to get in our fighting positions. I am next to older men that have fought in other battles, and they tell me not to be so excited for war is a terrible thing. Seeing as this is so new to me I shrug off their words of wisdom and continue with my merry thoughts. The men next to me tell me I need to listen to commands and stay focused at all times, or I will loose my life. We began to march towards the Union Army. On the way, I heard loud explosions all around me; the Union Army was using cannons and mines to defend themselves. The men around me began to shoot their riffles, so I did the same. There was yelling and firing all around, it seemed as though we were surrounded. The noise was so intense I felt it throughout my body. We were in the war; it was nothing as I expected. There was death all arou nd me. I dont think I have ever been more scared in my life. I was not mentally prepared to see what I saw nor was I physically prepared to do what was expected of me. Still I stayed brave, I didnt let any of my emotions pour through, for if I did I would never have been able to continue. August 28-30, 1862: The second and third days of this war were complete hell. There was so much action during theses days. I couldnt believe it!! There was more blood, guts and body less appendages just lying around than I could have ever imagined. Seeing all this made me hope that my blood would never be mixed with sea of nameless faces that was apparently growing. The fighting was so intense and there was so much pressure I just couldnt handle it. There were times when we would be running towards the Union Army and people would be dropping like flies, all of them were dead. It is my hope that they died instantly and not from being trampled over from all of us. Sometimes I would fall because I thought I was shot, but it turned out that I would just hear the noise and become so shocked that I would become paralyzed with fear, and no longer be able to move. Because of this reaction I ended up with cuts and bruises all over me, I cant explain how awful this felt I wanted to die each mi nute. The worst feeling was when I shot and killed another human being, no different from me. Seeing another person die because of me was dreadful. Soon after, though, it became second nature to me; killing to survive. I killed many men. Our task for the war, given by General Robert E. Lee, was to regain almost all of Virginia. We had completed our mission successfully, the South had won. .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd , .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .postImageUrl , .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd , .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:hover , .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:visited , .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:active { border:0!important; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:active , .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u7fca87f20b4e43b4d71888663f1240bd:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Maude Gould and Ann Lahiff EssayThis is the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life. I thought fighting would be fun and easy. I never thought it would effect me the way it did. I am proud that I helped the Confederate States of America win this battle, but I am sorry for all those that have died. All that died by my hand and all those that died by others hands. May God forgive us all. Bibliography:

Four successful careers for the hopeless romantic

Four successful careers for the hopeless romantic This is the time of year when people tend to have romance on the brain. Flowers! Jewelry commercials! Ads for upscale restaurants! If you’re a hopeless romantic, it’s kind of like the Super Bowl. But what if you want to turn those lovey-dovey feelings into a career, something you can build professionally? Believe it or not, there are options out there for you. 4 careers for people who love romance1. Wedding/special event photographerIf you have a knack with a camera, being a wedding photographer gives you a front-row seat to some of the happiest days of people’s lives. Everyone’s dressed up, people are (usually) on their best behavior, and your goal is to capture the romance for posterity. Plus, being a photographer has the advantage of being a flexible career, or side business, with many weddings and special events happening outside of standard business hours. What you’ll need: High-quality cameras and related equipment, plus training on how to use it. Courses on professional photography are highly recommended. What it pays: The median salary is $32,490 per year, per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.2. FloristFlorists and floral designers are usually the go-to retailers for romantic life events, with busy seasons around holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc. Floral designers are there for the good, the bad, and the celebratory, providing flowers and delivery to a range of customers. What you’ll need: Workers in a retail floral shop will need the basics (a high school degree and   customer service skills). If you’re looking to become a floral designer, you’ll likely need vocational courses and on-the-job training. Creativity and artistic flair are very helpful, as are good customer service skills to help your customers find the right way to say it with flowers. What it pays: The median salary for floral designers is $26,350 per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.3. Chocolatier/CandymakerIf you’re more interested in food service than flower service, you may want to consider becoming a chocolatier. This is not the most common path in food service, but what’s more romantic than high-quality chocolates to go with those flowers and gifts? Chocolatiers are artisans who create edible masterpieces, playing with flavors and structures to create the perfect bite. What you’ll need: To become a chocolatier, you’ll need a solid base in the culinary world, and may need to complete a pasty chef course. You’ll also need to meet your state’s licensing and food handling regulations, so be sure to check what your state requires. What it pays: The median salary for chocolatiers is $21,000 per year, but experienced pastry chefs can make more.4. Marriage counselorSometimes love needs a little help, and marriage counselors are licensed health care professionals who can help couples work on their relationships. This is not a job for the starry-eyed romantic who thinks all relationships are a romcom-ending away from happiness, but rather a practical career for someone who believes that therapy and hard work together can overcome challenges in love and life. Plus, health care careers are a very stable, practical bet for long-term career longevity.Marriage and family therapy in particular is a field that’s growing- the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the number of jobs in this area will grow more than 23% by 2026.What you’ll need: Marriage and family therapists typically have a master’s degree or higher, plus complete an internship or residency. Licensing requirements may vary by state, so be sure to check your own state’s requirements. What it pays: The median salary for marriage and family therapists is $48,790, per the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. If you love the very idea of love, there are ways to live that out in your professional life as well. Choosing a career that helps make other people happy can be a key to long-term career satisfaction. If you have the skills and the inclination to work in one of these service fields, you may find yourself with even more love to go around.

Yahoo's Organization Structure Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Yahoo's Organization Structure - Research Paper Example For example Executive Vice President, Service Engineering & Operations demonstrates division by function while Executive Vice President, Americas and Senior Vice President & MD, EMEA Region show division by geography. Yahoo has been too reliant on its U.S. business over the years which mean that the approach it uses in the US would not be the same as what it needs to use in the other regions where it is still growing its market share. This makes it sensible to separate the US business unit from those of other geographies. For an organization of its size with more than 13,700 employees division by function makes it easier to demarcate responsibility for revenue targets and expense management. What is your company’s strategy? Is it successful? Yahoo demonstrates two strategies. In its dominant US market, the company is pursuing organizational renewal to reverse organizational decline and put the firm back on a more appropriate path to success. The company’s decline was la rgely due to over-expansion of its product line and inability to deal with shifts in consumer demand for platforms that are provided by its major rivals: Facebook and Google. Yahoo’s new CEO plans to do away with about 50 properties to enable the company refocus on its core business (Scott Para 1). According to the new CEO, Yahoo has been doing way too much of which only a few things were being done really well (Scott Para 5). The second strategy that Yahoo is pursuing is growth through international strategy. Yahoo’s internationalization is for market-based reasons. Currently Yahoo is too reliant on its U.S. business. The company seeks to capture part of the market share of the growing middle class in emerging economies. Part of this international market development strategy will be through offering of country-specific services. So far none of these two strategies have been implemented long enough to evaluate whether they are successful or not. Does your company o perate within NAFTA or the European Union? Do those free trade agreements/ free trade union benefit or harm your company? Yahoo operates both within NAFTA (US, Canada, Mexico) and the European Union (Germany, Italy, Scandinavian countries etc.). Through its numerous offerings Yahoo is essentially a service-provider. NAFTA eliminated trade barriers in most service sectors and a couple of products as well. This reduction / eliminations of tariff increases trade within the region and hence give confidence to more individuals to use Yahoo platforms to advertise or sell their products or services within the region. This way NAFTA benefits Yahoo. Using the same argument one could say that by increasing trade within continental Europe, the European Union also indirectly benefits Yahoo by increasing the need for an intercontinental platform to advertise or trade in products and services. The company acknowledges as much, though indirectly, in its annual report where it highlights that fluct uations in foreign currency exchange rates as a possible risk factor. Does your company operate in low or high labor rate countries? How does your company try to reduce labor costs? The majority of Yahoo’s staff is located in the US. The company does not have a specific policy geared towards obtaining low or high labor rate countries. Moreover, the company’s core business is largely dependent on proprietary software which is mostly developed in the US. The company has however in some instances purchased technology and license intellectual property rights (Yahoo, Yahoo! Annual Report 2010 11). Yahoo’s solution to lowering labor costs is to eliminate non-performing business units and then to reduce headcount. The company has conducted six

Exegesis and Actualization on the Gospel of Mark Chapter 1 verses 1-8 Essay

Exegesis and Actualization on the Gospel of Mark Chapter 1 verses 1-8 - Essay Example n meaning of Mark 1:1-8 is appealing to the continuity of God’s work from the Old Testament to gather the true people of God not by religious rites but by personal repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. The mass of evangelical scholars agree about the priority of Mark’s Gospel among other gospels. Morna Hooker stated that, â€Å"The relationship between the three gospels is so close as to suggest that two of the evangelists must have copied this parallel material.†1 In that case Mark possesses material that Matthew and Luke have copied. Without hesitation, the book was written in Rome. Based on the accounts of Clement of Alexandria, Mark wrote the gospel in Rome and furthermore affirmed by Irenaeus.†2 The majority of the old and contemporary scholars believed that Mark was written sometime before the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70. It is presumable that Mark 13 paved the way for a massive persecution in the early days of Christianity that lead to its destruction. On the other hand, some say it could have been written right after the temple destruction.3 The political situation at the time of writing expresses revolts against Neronian persecution . Thus, John’s clothing and diet reveal this identity.4 He tried to hide himself for such a time. This implies that there is a power struggle in the politics as well as persecution in the church. Therefore, â€Å"preparing the way of the Lord† became more significant. This definitely affected the perspective generated by the Disciples anticipating to have the future glory manifestation in the present state. They could have been waiting for national liberty that Christ may bring. However, the Disciples misunderstood the concept of the purposeful mission of Christ. Hooker further explained: â€Å"A very different explanation suggests that the Markan community, like the Corinthian church, was ignoring the message of the Cross altogether, and interpreting the Christian life (as do James and

Social Motivation Essay Example for Free

Social Motivation Essay â€Å"Be careful. You can hurt with your words, but you can also hurt with your silence. † This is the quote of the week from the blog of the famous author, Paulo Coelho. Words are indeed powerful. One can either bless or curse another just by uttering words. But more powerful than words is the manner in which they are said. Most conflicts arise from misunderstandings which in turn are caused by statements not properly worded or not properly spoken. A person may mean one thing with his statement while another person can interpret it differently. The workplace is a common venue for conflicts rooted in the misuse and misinterpretation of words. Sometimes, it becomes a hostile environment especially when there are difficult co-workers stressing you out. How to deal with such an environment is pretty much the same with how it was done to at least diminish Guinea worm infestation in Nigeria: making use of the six sources of influence. Influence is power. Considering the situation in the workplace where a difficult co-worker irritates you and makes your environment unfriendly and reviewing the six sources of influence, we have the following: 1. Personal Motivation (Make the Undesirable Desirable) Where there is conflict, there isn’t peace, there isn’t harmony. And definitely, it would also be difficult for you to work well. When your work is affected, so is your performance, so is your rating as an employee. With these in mind, you wouldn’t want to be in conflict with anyone. And to be able to avoid it, be the good influencer. Make it your motivation to make friends with the difficult people in your workplace, because a harmonious environment won’t just be beneficial to them or to your bosses, but more importantly, to you. 2. Personal Ability (Surpass Your Limits) You are capable to make things happen. In one of the Influencer Videos in VitalSmarts. com, it is boldly stated, â€Å"Everyone has the power to change their world. † If you think you can’t, you’re definitely wrong. You may not believe in your ability that enough, but you definitely can do something. With proper motivation, make it a habit to be gentle, speaking just the right words at the right tone, at the right time. Be patient with difficult people. You may not get to influence them at once, but so long as you make an effort to speak kind words, you will notice an improvement in their behavior as well. 3. Social Motivation (Harness Peer Pressure) In the workplace setting, social motivation is much like personal motivation. If you can’t make it on your own, talk to your immediate superior or anyone who has authority to discuss with the whole team the essentials of a harmonious relationship. If there needs to be a teambuilding or at least a seminar on how to tame the tongue and the proper and professional way of saying words, then have one. People need to know or be reminded of how they should behave. 4. Social Ability (Find Strength in Numbers) Harmony won’t be achieved without unity. That’s the best explanation and motivation as well. Changing the world begins with changing one person. But that doesn’t end there. It should be a chain reaction: changing one person to change another. Co-workers must help each other. It would help to have a bulletin prominently posted inside the workplace to remind each worker about the power of their words and their manner of speaking. 5. Structural Motivation (Design Rewards and Demand Accountability) At the end of each week or each month, whichever is applicable, reward the friendliest person or the group or give recognition to those who didn’t have any issue or conflict with a co-worker. 6. Structural Ability (Change the Environment) From hostile, make the environment a friendly one. Design plans and activities for the team to be bonded. Make competitions healthy and professional. The most effective way to do this is by example. Let the change start in you. Change your ways and attitude towards your workmates and things. In doing so, you are helping them be better co-workers. These six sources are interconnected and inseparable. One can only be a good influencer if he is able to make use effectively all of the six. References Patterson, K. et. al. (2008). To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee - jem scout and dills childhood :: To Kill a Mockingbird Essays

To Kill A Mockingbird. The characters Dill, Scout, and Jem in the book â€Å" To Kill A Mockingbird† by Harper Lee live a somewhat diverse childhood as they become aware of the prejudice in their hometown Maycomb and â€Å"learn to climb into other people’s skin and walk around in it†. In the story the children behave as a child would at their time, but their childhood evolves from playful innocence to realizing the pressures of living in a timeframe where prejudice is all around them. Scout, a 6-year-old tom boy, Jem, Scout’s older brother, and Dill a friend, ignore the prejudice issues currently happening in Maycomb until Scout‘s father, Atticus, is assigned to defend Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman. Before this incident the children grow unaware of Atticus’ role as their father and his role in the community. Even as Miss Maudie supports Atticus and tells Scout that â€Å"Atticus is someone who does other people‘s unpleasant jobs for them,† the children are not conscious of their own prejudist ways towards Boo Radley, a â€Å"malevolent phantom† that went outside at night when the moon was down, and peeped in windows and when people’s azaleas froze in a cold snap, it was because he breathed on them. At a point Dill is attracted by this monster to the degree where his curiosity cannot be satisfied and spreads among Scout and Jem. As the children grow up, their view of the world around them is changed by the events that occur in Maycomb. Scout is teased at school because her father is defending a black person. Children at school call Atticus a â€Å"nigger-lover†. Scout does not think twice before beating anybody up and standing up for her father until Atticus asks Scout to ignore all the gossip about them and to â€Å"stop beating up kids at school.† Scout decides to listen to Atticus because Atticus rarely ever asked anything from them. This is when Scout starts to learn how to be a lady and Jem grows up to be a man. Aunt Alexandra’s stay with the Finch’s influences Scout and Jem to be well behaved people of their own fine breeding and higher social status. Jem and Scout suffer a traumatic event that could have ended both of their lives. They were attacked by Bob Ewell, but were saved by Boo Radley when Boo killed Bob and carried Jem to the Finch house because Jem was unconscious and had a broken arm.

Marijuana

The use of marijuana in human civilization dates back to 6000 B. C. In this era, China found that cannabis seeds are edible and later discovered a greater use as textiles. From that time period, humanity has made significant advancement, and has discovered further uses for the marijuana plant. Today, marijuana can be used as medical cannabis to treat ailments that other medication cannot possibly treat. Although medical cannabis has some great benefits, in the many countries it is still illegal to possess and/or use. Thus the legalization of marijuana should be legalized through its promising and beneficial results. Contrary to belief, medical cannabis has very few health risks compared to propaganda suggested to most people in mainstream media. Throughout the years many random and bogus facts of marijuana have circulated, many of these disputes however, have been debunk through actual scientific study done today. The monkey marijuana experiment in 1973 for example was a huge hoax. In the case study, the monkeys were exposed to marijuana smoke everyday and died after ninety days. The autopsy report ruled that hey died to a dead brain through great loss in brain cells. Therefore, the conclusion of the study was that marijuana kills brain cells, but the experiment failed to report the monkeys were being suffocated for five minutes on a daily schedule for three months. The process of asphyxiation or suffocation causes lack of oxygen to the brain, which leads to death of brain cells. Soon after, many more theories have been tested and most of the so-called health risks were nothing more than hokum.Marijuana has fairly less harmful effects, unlike other legal drugs such as: alcohol, tobacco, cetaminophen, amphetamine, OxyContin, Xanax, sleeping pills, and many other legal drugs. Adversely, compared to other drugs and the drugs listed prior, marijuana has very few health risks. Since there are very few scientifically proven health risks, they are much more minimal in h armful effects than other recreational drugs. Alcohol and tobacco for instance, have higher risk in use than marijuana. The Center of Disease Control and Prevention states that: There are approximately 80,000 deaths attributable to excessive alcohol use each year in the United States. l This makes xcessive alcohol use the 3r d leading lifestyle-related cause of death for the nation. 2 Excessive alcohol use is responsible for 2. 3 million years of potential life lost (YPLL) annually, or an average of about 30 years of potential life lost for each death. l In 2006, there were more than 1. 2 million emergency room visits and 2. 7 million physician office visits due to excessive drinking. The economic costs of excessive alcohol consumption in 2006 were estimated at $223. 5 billion. 3 Compared to the average marijuana smokers, tobacco smokers frequently smoke more as stated in Mikaela Conleys ABC News article, â€Å"Among the study participants, the average pot smoker lit up two to three times per month. The average tobacco user smoked eight cigarettes per day. † Due to the greater amount of frequency in lighting a cigarette the average tobacco smoke causes much more air pollution as well as second hand smoke. In summation, the negative output of marijuana is miniscule compared to the negative output of most legal drugs/over the counter drugs. The medical uses of prescribed a mysterious herb as tea. This tea was marijuana and was used to treat, everything from pain relief to earache to childbirth. Doctors also warned against overuse of marijuana, believing that too much consumption caused impotence, blindness and â€Å"seeing devils. (Stack& Suddath)† Ever since then the uses of medical cannabis has varied from nausea to cancer and even to pain relief.According to â€Å"Disabled World†, Few herbs offer a wide variety of therapeutic applications like these: Relief of muscle spasms, relief of chronic pain reduction in interlobular pressure inside t he eye, suppression of nausea, weight loss – increase and restore etabolism, AIDS – Marijuana can reduce the nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting from the condition itself and the medications as well. Today, medical cannabis remains one of the most controversial social issues around the world.Although many people disagree with the drug, for one boy it proved valuable results. Jayden David of California suffers from a, â€Å"debilitating form of epilepsy, which causes him to experience frequent seizures – some lasting up to 90 minutes. (Fox40)† This only treatment for his epilepsy prior to medical marijuana was twenty types of medication hat he must take everyday in order to control his epilepsy. Once Jayden was on CDB (cannabidol), â€Å"Jayden's seizures are down approximately 80 percent. Jayden is functioning now,' David, of Modesto, Calif. told Fox 40. ‘The doctors told me Jayden would never walk or talk. ‘ (Fox40)† This is Just one of the stories of many lives that medical cannabis has managed to improve, including: cancer, chemotherapy, anorexia, bulimia, and many other ill patients. Due to its already besmirched image, the process in which obtaining medicinal marijuana has become such a hurdle that it is much harder to obtain than it should. Along with its beneficial results as medical cannabis, marijuana could have a substantially great impact on economy. With the drug being legal, less police force is needed to enforce the law, thus saving a substantial amount of taxpayer's money from the â€Å"get-go'. The Budgetary Implications of Marijuana Prohibition in the United States reveals that, â€Å"The report estimates that legalizing marijuana would save $7. 7 billion per year in government expenditure on enforcement of prohibition. $5. 3 billion of this savings would accrue to state and local governments, while $2. 4 billion ould accrue to the federal government. This is Just from deprivation of reduced polic e force, TBIMP states that, â€Å"50% of possession arrests are due solely to marijuana possession rather than being incidental to some other crime. † Declaring the arrest rate of 50% of all arrests are marijuana possession shows and reinforces the idea of how much the United States can save with reduced arrests and enforcements. In addition to the legalization of the drug, it could be taxed and distributed as a product worldwide for increase GDP in not only the United States, but also many other countries. However in the U. S. he estimated report says it would yield is, â€Å"$2. 4 billion annually if marijuana were taxed like all other goods and $6. 2 billion annually if marijuana were taxed at rates comparable to those on alcohol and tobacco. † Increase of new product in the market allows more economic growth worldwide. If the enormous revenue of legalization of marijuana is so great, it imposes the question of the legitimacy of illegalization of a drug in the first place, and to answer that question frankly it should! morality of it (which is the only answer to the question imposed prior to this entence). Most people against marijuana say that it is a drug and it is bad, but hold no other credible evidence of it truly being â€Å"bad†. In 1920 the United States imposed an alcohol prohibition because of their morale of it being â€Å"bad†. Just like marijuana alcohol is a drug, and has many pros and cons, such as medical uses like a disinfectant as well as a recreational drug. The hypocrisy came when the government imposed the prohibition when the motto has been â€Å"for the people by the people†. This lack of representation of the people caused one of the greatest failures in law reation since slavery. Not only did prohibition fail in stopping people from drinking alcohol, it also increased the amount of people drinking as well as crime rate. The distillation process of making alcohol became a homemade Job, but due to the lack of proper equipment and sanitation this beverage was much more hazardous to drink. It was estimated at least ten thousand people died during the enforcement of the 1920 to 1933 Prohibition. During this time the profit of making alcohol skyrocketed, which made it more tempting to break the law.Along with the increase crime rate, it as also reported that vandalism and public disturbances increased. This example is currently like the prohibition of marijuana, not only is it making crime more profitable, but it is also increasing the negligence of the people consuming and the law enforcement. However, due to a greater understanding of responsibility and information of recreational drugs, modern day society has allowed awareness in safety of alcohol consumption. This awareness could also be used for marijuana, Just as it has been done for tobacco and other drugs. In summation, the use of marijuana medically and recreationally has been around ince the beginning of civilization, and sh ould still be continued today; Just as Bert Lance once said, â€Å"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. † In addition, the legalization of marijuana should Just be reinstated prior to it's ban through its promising medical uses for all sick and ill patients, its beneficial economic results for everybody, and its use as a reminder that public opinion are still held accountable; even with the modern political Jargon going around today. So, for the sake of the ill who needs the drugs, to us, the people who could benefit from the drug, we should keep in mind that the ecision is more than Just a basis of morality, but also the basis of something for all. â€Å"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one. Marijuana Even the Persian founder of Suffix, who struggled with depression until discovering the plant, requested in his death, ‘to be buried amid cannabis leaves so his spirit may walk in the shade Of the plant that eve him much joy in his lifetime† (Medical-Marijuana-Mentor. Com). However, if marijuana has been embraced by diverse faiths and civilizations, why is marijuana such a controversial subject now? In America's inception marijuana was used to generate vast government money by our founding fathers; George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp on Mount Vernon. But in 1932, the Confirm State Narcotic Act gave legislative control of marijuana from the federal government to the states, thus prohibiting the use of marijuana (The Free Dictionary). Nevertheless, numerous studies have shown the benefits of marijuana outweigh its negative effects. Therefore, the stigma should be lifted so that the people of the Lignite States can enjoy the benefits of marijuana. The legali zation of marijuana in the U. S. Would lower crime, stimulate the economy, and provide medical relief.First of all, the legalization of marijuana would lower the crime rate in the United States by creating a safe environment for its users. If marijuana is taken off the street, and out of the hands of the dealers, the crimes associated with these types of dealings would also be taken off the street. It would put marijuana into a legal market where it could be controlled by the proper authorities. â€Å"By providing legal supplies of currently illegal drugs the price will fall, leading to a collapse in the illegal drug industry, and a reduction in crimes committed by both drug suppliers and users† (Legalization of Marijuana). To illustrate this, just three months after the state of Colorado legalized marijuana, crime decreased 14. 6% and in Denver from the same time last year†¦ Violent crime also went down 2. 4% (Natural Society). Another disconcerting problem with marijuan a being sold on the street is its accessibility to minors. Drug dealers do not discriminate and do not care whether the buyer is a minor or not; their interest is solely in their own profits. High school students have reported that illegal drugs are easier to access than alcohol and tobacco. This would obviously explain why the percentage of teens using weed is drastically on the rise. On the other hand, if marijuana was legalized and sold as cigarettes, the buyer or consumer would have to produce a valid identification before purchasing it, and a vendor cannot legally sell alcohol and tobacco to minors. As a result, legalizing Arizona would establish more of control of its distribution, and would also reduce the usage of it among minors. With the economy in the United States in shambles, legalizing marijuana would allow it to be a taxable item and would produce millions of dollars into the system. The new measure is expected to bring†¦ [in] $550 million combined, with more than 300 economists previously estimating that legalizing pot could save the U. S. Up to $14 billion a year† (Huff Post Business). We should not allow drug dealers the ability to control the market and benefit on a product that has the potential to ring in high profits into our much-needed empty confers. With marijuana being sold on the black market drug dealers charge exuberant prices because they have the monopoly on the market; keeping pot illegal is inadvertently enriching greedy drug dealers. On a similar note, by legalizing marijuana the demand will rise for more farms and dispensaries. With this comes more jobs because establishments like this would be hiring farmers, growers, and employees would be needed to run the new dispensaries, thus creating a new and large job market. By legalizing Marijuana it can be something the American people can profit from as a whole, as well as the U . S. Government, instead of a small group of criminals who's only priority is to enrich thems elves. Lastly, and most importantly marijuana can treat diverse mental and physical illnesses.Medical marijuana or cannabis has already been legalized in 20 of the 52 states in the U. S. Marijuana can treat cancer patients suffering from the affects of chemo and radiation by dehydrogenation's (TECH) -? which has pain-relieving properties. It can also be used to prevent the spread of cancer cells. â€Å"CB (one of the components n cannabis) represents the first nontoxic exogenous agent that can significantly decrease old-l expression in metastasis breast cancer cells leading to the down-regulation of tumor aggressiveness† (National Library of Medicine).Furthermore, marijuana can be used to treat and prevent eye disease such as glaucoma. It has also been know to treat mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. In addition, some independent studies have shown Marijuana to prevent suicide in those who use it for medical purposes. Marijuana is, at present, successfully treat ing people suffering from the effects of illnesses, but only in the states that have legalized it. However, everyone should have access to the medicinal properties found in cannabis and the ability to use them legally. Therefore it should be legally available to those whose health can benefit from it. In closing, it is safe to say there are many beneficial uses to this controversial drug known as marijuana. Prohibiting the use of marijuana does not prevent it from being used, but rather gives a small and dangerous group a large portion of control and power. If we are to learn anything from the history of prohibition in the hearties in relation to alcohol is that it did the opposite of what it was intended, â€Å"Alcohol became more dangerous to consume; organized crime blossomed; courts and prisons systems became overloaded† (1 920-30. Mom). Such is the case of the country today in regards to marijuana. The legalization of marijuana would not raise but rather lower crime, and would allow marijuana to be more controlled by the governing authorities. It would produce billions of dollars into an economy frocked with debt and create jobs in a time where unemployment is at record highs. It would allow those offering from the horrors of illnesses to find a means to ease their pain, and in some cases actually treat the illness itself.

Explaining the Origins and Evils of Society in Second...

Second Treatise of Government by John Locke and Discourse on the Origin of Inequality by Jean-Jacques Rousseau are books written to try and explain the origin of society. Both try to explain the evils and inequalities of society, and to a certain degree to discuss whether man in his natural state is better than man in society. These political science based theories do not appear, at first, to have anything in common with J. Hector St. John De Crà ¨vecoeur’s Letters from an American Farmer, which are letters written by Crà ¨vecoeur during the settling of America and the beginning of the American Revolution, however with examination we can see reflection of both Locke’s and Rousseau’s ideas about things such as human nature, government, and†¦show more content†¦Specifically he states ‘This latter type of inequality consists in the different privileges enjoyed by some at the expense of others, such as being richer, more honored, more powerful than they, or even causing themselves to be obeyed by them.’ (Rousseau, 45). Crà ¨vecoeur reflects this when he discusses slavery because he speaks about how the slaves are controlled because the other race has wealth and the slaves are forced to obey them. Slavery is an example of Rousseau’s idea of political equality, which he states does not exist in the state of nature but is created by the consent of man (Rousseau, 45). Something that Crà ¨vecoeur talks about in his Letters is the kind of government in America and his opinion on it. At the beginning this is all very positive, and the first mention of the government is him discussing that there is no absolute power, stating that ‘We have no princes, for whom we toil, starve, and bleed; we are the most perfect society now existing in the world’ (Crà ¨vecoeur, 597). He is quite straight forward with his opinion that the fact that the government being not absolute is a good thing, an opinion shared by both Locke and Rousseau. Locke states ‘It cannot be supposed that they should intend, had they the power to do so, to give to any one,Show MoreRelated On the Virtues of Private Property in Locke and Rousseau Essay2221 Words   |  9 PagesOn the Virtues of Private Property in Locke and Rousseau John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau, following their predecessor Thomas Hobbes, both attempt to explain the development and dissolution of society and government.
